I tried signing up and logging in multiple times, but the same would happen.

Then I tried signing up through UgPhone’s website, and it worked. I was able to log in through the desktop app after that.

Game Store & the APK Center

When you sign up to UgPhone, you get 250 diamonds (a type of virtual currency in UgPhone).

You can head to the shop and rent a phone from the most basic tier for 4 hours with those 250 diamonds. You have the freedom to choose the server location. However, not all server locations are available for 250 diamonds.

I tested the UgPhone platform through this phone. The phone ran on 3GB RAM and Android 10.

The first thing I looked for on the phone was game apps. There were none. There were only five apps:

1. Google Play
2. Tool center
3. Game center
4. Process manager
5. Google Chrome

The tool center and game center are UgPhone’s own stores. The tool center contains utility apps, including social media, and the game center includes games.

You can also access these two stores from outside the phone and install apps on your phone.

What I liked the most was the ability to install apps on UgPhone cloud phones through APKs.

The apps not available on UgPhone’s app stores or Google Play Store can easily be added to your phones through this feature.

Streaming Quality

I had chosen Singapore as the server location for my phone, whose advertised latency was around 110ms.

While using the phone, the phone’s latency stayed within the 50s. So the ping was quite satisfactory. The ping is displayed in the title bar of an open phone.

Even if the ping starts fluctuating and goes higher, don’t be quick to blame UgPhone. First, make sure your internet connection is stable. UgPhone offers a speed check feature on its application to do that.

This was important to point out because something like that happened with my phone. The ping surged to over 1000ms and wouldn’t drop to normal.

After some waiting, I tried restarting the phone, and it got stuck on the restarting screen.

But it turned out that my internet connection had become really slow.

I waited for the internet speed to return to normal and downloaded Roblox from the Game Center.

The game I chose to play was “Speed Keyboard Escape.”

During the entire gameplay, the streaming quality stayed smooth, as well as the ping. Here’s a short clip from the entire gameplay:

Notice that the ping fluctuates for a brief moment when the game is starting. It stayed stable while I was playing the game.

Proxy Setup & Fingerprint Testing

So I had nothing to test but the phone’s actual fingerprint.

I ran a fingerprint analysis test through Iphey and Pixelscan. Here’s the fingerprint analysis video from Iphey.

Iphey labeled the fingerprint as trustworthy. But Pixelscan declared it as inconsistent because it was detecting a proxy.

 

Iphey and Pixelscan have two different verdicts when the fingerprint values they both detected are the same.

Both detected the same IP from Singapore and a timezone of China Standard Time, which is the same offset that Singapore uses. But why different verdicts then?

Well, that’s actually the mismatch. Singapore and Shanghai share the same UTC+8 offset, so the clock on the phone looks correct. But the browser, apart from reporting an offset, reports a timezone name too, and that name was Asia/Shanghai on a phone with a Singapore IP.

So Iphey checked the offset and saw no conflict, but Pixelscan checked the name against the IP location and caught it.

You can see in Iphey’s report that the IP risk score is also zero and its Datacenter status is also false, so the IP itself is clean. The problem is the device using this IP. Since UgPhone gave me a Singapore server without changing the system timezone underneath, and that single leftover value is enough for a detection tool to call the setup inconsistent.

A game, like the Roblox one I played in one of the above videos, will never check for this. But a social media platform like TikTok will most definitely.

I also ran a DNS leak test through both Pixelscan and Browserleaks, and both found no leaks at all.
